Looks like it's home alone for me today.

OH is off to work and Fred was waiting for the carers when they came this morning.No waking up required.

There was conversation involving glasses drifting up the stairs so they must have been discussing the optician unless they were just asking for a refill, and that wouldn't surprise me with the noise that comes up from there sometimes!

The chiropodist just called unannounced too and Fred opened the door himself He has not done that for some time because he could not see well enough.

I don't think the weather is going to matter,it looks like Boots and Wetherspoons have it all to come!

Enjoy your "me" day while you can, it sounds as if you don't get too many of those!!

Looks like Fred is having a new lease of life!
Enjoy Wetherspoons, Sharron. OH and me went there for luch a couple of days ago - two Five Bean Chillis for £6.75 - bargain of the century! :-D

He came home wrapped round steak and kidney pudding,peas and chips having,to my immeasurable pride,made himself an appointment for an eye test next week.

I did have to ring Boots and change the appointment because the time he had booked would have meant travelling on the bus in his wheelchair when peope are coming home from work but he can't be expected to take everything into account.

Considering he was sent home to die over six years ago now because he was making no progress and could not string a sentence together you might say i am crowing a bit.

He still gets his mucking firds wuddled quite badly bad he can evidently make himself understood now AND he has the confidence to try.

Confidence is the biggest thing, Sharron. I'm sure you've gone a long way to making him feel he can do many things that the doctors told him he'd never do.

His mate who goes out with him has suffered major confidence problems that nobody an really understand.

They both have gained a lot from this stroke.Fred has been forced to achieve something and has felt the benefit of that and his mate has coped extremely well with any crisies that have befallen them when they are out.He has blossomed too.

Proves my point. We all have the mental skills to cope with anything - it's mostly learning how to use the skills and having the confidence to trust in yourself.

He made the mistake of wingeing about not being able to use the television remote when he first came home.

Serves him right,it is his own fault!

What a great job you and Fred have done between you Sharron, and Fred's mate hasn't done so bad either, hope they both go from strength to strength.
