back to dyeing my hair... it's gone very grey/white over the last few months ( I'm beginning to resemble the lady in the latest 'Go Compare' ad), and I was stopped in the shopping centre today by 'Funeral plan' sellers :-(

:-D That is the last straw Rose, sounds like you'd better. It is strange how people do judge you by your hair. I let my hair go completely grey last month before having it coloured again then got fed up with people in shops etc talking down to me as if I was senile. And the bus driver lowering the platform for me to get off. had my hair coloured and definitely notice a change in attitude, yet my face is the same 72 year old one. :-D

Sorry Rose but :-D :-D :-D

I'm red atm mainly because I couldn't find the light brown colour I bought a couple of weeks ago. I'd bought two red colours last year but only used one so decided to use the other one before the grey became the majority colour on my hair.

well I've bought a box of 'light golden brown'.... if it turns me ginger like the last lot did, it will be the last time I try and I shall just sign up for the funeral plan lol :-D

Have your grey hair dyed blonde, girls! You'll have more fun, and youngsters will stop offering you a seat on the bus or train (or is that a disadvantage!) Plus, the roots won't show so much. Only need to have mine done every 10 to 12 weeks. :-D

wife keeps asking me to dye my hair says it will take years off me
the thought of what would happen when i walk into the pub means it will never happen
mind if/when we sell up and move out of brum i may be tempted

A friend of mine uses cold tea to rinse her hair - she has lovely light brown hair.

Susan-nz Report 4 Apr 2013 19:43

I am 54 years young and grey :-),

I love my hair, it has 'greyed' more like salt and pepper. Used to have colours but got sick of paying for them.

Each to their own. Rose , I think I would have given the funeral plan seller a talking too...

Good luck with the light brown :-)

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 4 Apr 2013 19:53

I genuinely feel better about myself when I have my hair light brown, I hated looking in the mirror and felt so old and drab when it was grey, partly because it is a horrible dark steel grey.

BrianW Report 4 Apr 2013 19:56

Mine has gone grey but at least most of it is still there, just a little thinner on the crown.
Feel sorry for a couple of chaps I know who have lost most of it before 40.

Like Susan NZ I am grey and proud.

In fact the front of it is completely white. It strong and shiny, so what the heck.

I like it, so it stays.

I had mine coloured today after missing an appointment. The women in 'Go Compare' had the edge on me. I looked and felt terrible. Nice brown colour with a few highlights. Pity about the over-straightening but that will change when I wash it.

I would be happy to have grey hair if it was a nice light grey and my skin was pink not sallow

I think a bit of colour around the face makes all the difference. I hope the colour turns out as on the box for you Rose although I'm rather fond of 'ginger' as my daughter has a nice colour red hair.

I was canvassed for my opinion on funeral homes recently and my hair wasn't even grey. Must have been the stiff walk..

I will stop having my hair coloured when it's an even, pale silver - but right now it's very patchy (I think?) :-D
