I like to eat horlicks powder lol, have horlicks every night but can't bear it made with milk lol, make it with water and then just a dash of milk .
I don't think you can get horlicks tablets now - wonder if they would taste the same as I remember?

Must of gone on well into the 60s used to give them to my son whilst he waited for me to finish my shift in the chemist shop after collecting him from nursery. We sold them and they always went down well :-D

I can take cocoa in small amounts, but too much in one hit makes me feel a bit nauseous.

I'll stick with something soothing before bed

Horlicks tablets in the 40's when sweets were on ration you could get them in the chemist shops - they were very nice if I recall correctly, and better than no sweets at all

Best thing about seaside trips with mum staying in B&Bs in Hastings ( where the owners locked the doors from dusk to dawn) was going to the cafes and getting a frothy Horlicks as a nightcap :-D

EDIT: should have said dawn to dusk....we weren't vampires lol

Allan Report 9 Apr 2013 23:21

No, Mersey, as I find it difficult to unwrap them whilst sitting on my hands ;-)
