First you will need some understanding of the subject before is can you can transfer it to a project for others,

What is family History.

How much is known of your own stems and your gene make-up.

there are paths in all subjects so choose that will appeal to your aimed students in an uncomplicated way.

basics to more advanced.not forgetting social happenings at certain times that can cause pitfalls or brickwalls,,.

I am an undergraduate in the 2nd year of my degree.

For one of my assignments. I have been asked to produce a teaching reosource pack - running a workshop. I have chosen Family History for mature students.

I have chose one subject but 6 different verstions.

Can anyone help with this or suggest things.

Keep in mind that your workshop/s:
will need to address their needs (e.g. level of information
seeking experience)
should aim to increase their information seeking ability
Therefore, your report:
will need to introduce the audience, and to consider the
audience’s background and needs
explain how the programme of workshops might
accommodate these needs
explain how the activities, and the general presentation of
the workshop, can address the needs of the group you are working with


Outline of workshop programme
Your report should include an outline of the programme and its six
workshops.
This outline should briefly:
explain which information seeking skills the programme
will cover and why. include learning outcomes for each
workshop
explain the rationale for the programme and explain how
it would meet the needs of the group
use brief supporting literature to explain why and how at
each stage of the outline.

Produce a teaching pack for one workshop
Take one of your workshops from Step 3, and use this as the basis
of creating a complete ‘teaching pack’ that would enable one of
your colleagues to run that workshop with minimal extra effort.
