If it's Friday it must be Wetherspoons.

My OH gets some good electrical bargains in the pound shops, also got some dahlia corms, as Carol says you have to check the bulbs. I get a few craft bits for card making, stationery, odds and ends, it is things in the food and sweets lines that are repacked in smaller packs - I saw the programme too. As long as people know theya re gettings smaller packs and it is all they want to carry that is fine.

What does Fred buy at Poundland, Sharron? We'd love to share his shopping tips.

Poundland is good value for pots & bulbs/plants, though you do need to check for good pack before buying.

I needed a couple of washing up bowls & got them there, saved myself £6

I always buy their foil freezer boxes, as they are exactly the same as the ones the supermarkets sell & a fraction of the price.

I do think you were expecting a bit much if you got a whole set for £1. terryj.

dont think there is a sometimes about it
remember years ago buying a screwdriver set and using the big one to shift a stubern screw after several turns i am stood there thinking this is a bloodey long screw
when i looked at the screw driver it looked more like a cork screw

ps love weatherspoons whenever we are away at a rally always look up the nearest for a cheap drinking session and of cource their cheap brekkies before we head home

There was a programme o the television about these shops recently and they are often not as good value as they appear but,if it keeps him amused for an afternoon, they are value for me!

Because some of the chains are big now they can buy enough from the manufacturers to make it worth their while to tool up and make a smaller sized pack than you can buy elsewhere so sometimes you are not getting the bargain you think you are.

I would love a spin round Poundland with or without Fred. Amazing bargains. We have shops here called Todo Un Euro, everything a euro, but nothing is as cheap as a euro, more like 4 or 5 euros.

Fred is out again today as part of his wild social whirl. I won't say gay because he is up for anything new now and I don't want to give him ideas!

Much debate was given to whether he should have his lunch before or after his eye test. No doubt there will be a cruise around Poundland as well.

The seed for the idea of him going to Bognor has been planted in his mind. Now I have a bit of leeway while he sorts it out and tells himself he thought of it all along and then puts it into action. I just have to thin up something new for after that.
