Tomorrow we cook the village lunch and have decided we will give them a school dinner.

It is all downstairs prepped and doesn't need much more than cooking tomorrow.

I have just completed the costings and we are feeding forty-five people two courses for £28.

AnninGlos Report 17 Apr 2013 20:51

But which school dinner is it? :-S

Sharron Report 17 Apr 2013 20:55

Quorn pasties, carrots, boiled spuds, tinned peas. chocolate cracknell (Sugar Puffs, syrup, cocoa, butter, milk powder) and pink blancmange. There might be a bit of frozen blackberry mousse if it looks alright in the fridge in the morning.

We did sausage and mash last year.

Anyway, tomorrow is Thursday and,as everybody knows, Wednesday is Sausage Sandwich Day.

Please keep up at the back!

PricklyHolly Report 17 Apr 2013 23:38

I think i wll give it a miss tomorrow thankyou Sharron.

Tinned peas!!!

:-0 :-0

Sharron Report 18 Apr 2013 00:22

I love tinned peas. More for me.

Sharron Report 18 Apr 2013 20:14

Done it. All the plates were clean.

Got Fred a job now too. He is tablecloth monitor.

Somebody has to wash the cloths every month so I asked the organizer to askFred to do it. It gives him something to be in charge of.

Well done. I bet they enjoyed that.

I did think of you stirring vats of blancmange at lunch time....or perhaps it was already cold? I nearly bought some packets myself, as I conjured up the thought and memory of warm smooth blancmange.

Great that Fred has a new responsibility. Bet he will enjoy that task and it will give you a chance to not have to surrender your washing to him so often, if he is already busy.
Nice one.

Sharron Report 18 Apr 2013 20:45

Cold blancmange, we made it yesterday.

I had the skin, cooks perks.

It is one of those things you kind of forget to eat now but it is what we grew up on.

Wend Report 18 Apr 2013 20:51

Sharron - pleeeeze - I'm trying to get my appetite back :-S

Sharron Report 18 Apr 2013 21:03

What you need is a good spotted dick.

BrianW Report 18 Apr 2013 22:01

You could always put some cream on your spotted dick.

Mersey Report 18 Apr 2013 22:05

Reminds me of my Mum always tried to get me to eat the rice pudding skin when I was a nipper........yukky yuk yuk.....I can't even look at blancmange or rice pudding now *Shudders*

Sharron Report 18 Apr 2013 22:23

Best bit.

Mersey Report 18 Apr 2013 22:30

Sharron she said that and told us it was good for us..... :-D....geeeez what adults would say to make us chew LOL ;-)

Diamonds-R-A-Girls-Best-Friend Report 18 Apr 2013 22:33

Sharron not forgetting the skin on custard-yummy

Sharron Report 18 Apr 2013 23:01

If I was your mother I would not have even let you know that blancmange, custard and milk puddings had a skin. That would have been all mine.

You don't realize how good bread and butter tastes until you grow up and eat it from choice.

The crusts probably don't give you white hair and curly teeth either.

SueMaid Report 18 Apr 2013 23:02

I like tinned peas.

Sharron Report 18 Apr 2013 23:03

So do I.
