Unfortunately, it doesn't work and hasn't since the new version of the tree was introduced last year.

What you could do, is open GR and the other tree in another window ( not tab) and fiddle around with the sizing so that you can see yours and the other side by side on the screen as follows.
Put your curser on the black bar at the very bottom of your screen, and right click. You'll be given the options

Cascade Windows
Show Windows stacked
Show Windows side by side

Choose one best suited to you ( possibly side by side)

Then you can easily compare and manually enter the data on your own tree.

When you've finished, right click on the bottom black bar again, and select the 'Undo...' option to put it back to where it was.

how to i take relatives of some ones tree once given permission and paste them to my tree. I can add them to clipboard but dont know how to put them on my tree. :-D
