A friend of mine & her siblings got their mother a ring for a "special" birthday

Several stones (no idea how many), one for each of her children, the stones were the children's birthstones.

It doesn't have to be a ring, could be a brooch, or a pendant.

How about a copy of a newspaper for the day she was born?
They have proved very acceptable for older rellies of mine in the past.
Have also used them as gifts for special wedding anniversaties...obviously for the date of the wedding.

Does she like jewellery ?

It would be light to carry . as she has arthritis it would need to be something not too fiddly to put on and off. maybe a nice brooch or a cross and chain that can be left on .

Does. she like flowers or plants , theres lots of online companies that do online ordering and they would be delivered to her so no carrying needed .

My fantastic Mother in law turns 70 this year, her major present is the fact that her son who left the UK 9years ago is very quietly going to be there for her.

What do we buy her?
OH wanted to buy a kindle sis in law has vetoed this but suggested that Mum wants to come over to Spain this year (her brother lives 2 hrs away from us) we pay towards her flight. I don´t like just giving money but have to agree that it might be the best option. Even if it is I want to send something small then that Mum in law can keep ..
Ideas please, remember OH is traveling light so no carry but we can send things.

Mum in law used to love X stitch but sadly doesn´t /can´t do it no more, she also does cake decorating ...Yeahhh she did my wedding cake but arthritis has set in and both although are still a major part of her life are a dwindling part

Ideas both for send over the net and small to hand over
