We are a family of "huggers" and now the five littlest grandchildren try to see who can give the biggest hugs........... It's wonderful

This has brought back a lovely memory for me.....

My OH,s mum just 4ft 10 wasnt the type to show emotions to her 4 strapping lads and a daughter. They were all brought up in a hard and strict way.

Mum in law was in hospital and we went to visit her. Just before we went into the ward I asked him to give her a big hug. He said he couldnt. I just told him to give it a go. He walked up to her bed and gave her alovely hug and kiss.

I shall never forget the smile on her face and the tears in her eyes. It was a wonderful moment and the fact that that first hug of so many more to follow was a treasured moment.

Oh dear I need a hug now sob
:-) :-)

I think Dizzi has the answer Rose as to why hugs are in short supply.

Anyway massive ((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) to you.

Or it could be that there are fewer hugs since we've had the emoticons. <3

(((((((( hugs))))))) to you,and best wishes,Rambling Rose.

We always hug our best friends,male and female. :-D :-D :-D :-D

One of my friends always gives me a big bear hug when she sees me.

I think it's nice, I always enjoy a good cuddle! :-) :-)

Note...my Dad always gave us lots of cuddles, but my Mum was not very demonstrative or affectionate. We hug her more now we're older.

so because there are a few people I would like to give a hug to ( whether they would like it is another matter! lol)

((((hugs))) and best wishes xx

funny I was thinking of two friends of mine, one is non-huggy except in extreme circumstances so I always hesitate to do so, and one is a 'force of nature' who whisks you into a bear hug at the drop of a hat lol.

I come from quite a huggy family, though I am told as a child I was always wriggling out of hugs to go and 'do things', whereas my brother was happy to stay put. But as I've got older I appreciate them more I think.
