No way - up to 10-12 years ago there were no murders within 20 miles of where I live - that has definitely changed and there are more violent crimes reported each week.

You can play with statistics every way, which way.

When ever it's announced that crime has fallen I tend to look to see if the way crime is recorded has changed,

I was looking into the cost of prisons and prisoners this morning so how crime is reported may be my next task but will have to wait for now, One job at a time

Every day on news bulletins and in newspapers I read of people being stabbed, shot, raped, abused, and mugged, yet it has been reported that crime has fallen since 2011 :-S

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22294097

crimes recorded by police in England and Wales fell by 8% last year compared to 2011, new figures show.

All the main categories, including violent and sex crimes, were down. However pickpocketing rose by 8%, the Office for National Statistics said.

Do you think that crime overall has fallen ?
