I understand what you are saying but.... my OH actually has a mop of thick dark hair.
Just 2 wee, grey, cotton wool type bits at the nape of his neck.
I keep asking him why he insists on cutting his hair soooo short.
He tells me that he can't have any length because he can't do a thing with it and gets bed-head!

BTW.... he is over 50 , goes to the barber and gets what he call an economy cut. The shorter, the better as it lasts longer!
How can I convince him that he looks younger and better... with hair?

I remember..... last time I asked, he told me that he didn't want people to think that he was a young man, married to an older woman.. The cheek of it! :-P :-P

we had a man come in once to give some quality training and all i could look at was his bobby charlton comb over couple of weeks later he came in with his hair neatly trimmed and you no longer noticed he was bald

I think when men are starting to lose their hair it looks so much better very short/shaved. OH has his very very short and shaved at the back., it makes him look much younger. Much better than trying to make a few sparse hairs cover a bald pate like Frank Brough years ago. :-D

My grandad was bald, with a wee bit at the back (much like my brother!) <3

Grandad went to the barber once a month. Got the wee bit trimmed. Also got a trim on his eyebrows, nostril & ear hair!

If he'd left the eyebrows, nostrils & ears, he could have pulled all the hair to the top of his head........... nah, can't imagine grandad with rasta dreadlocks :-D

Ah yes, females with long hair.
What I don't understand is why many young women, and it does seem to be the young ones, with beautiful long hair, constantly feel the need to keep flicking it around, usually into other people's faces, but they just can't leave it alone.
What's that all about? It ends up looking like it's never been combed.

But it doesn't end there.
They then intermittently vigorously rub or scratch at their scalp in an effort to disarrange said beautiful long hair, but in actual fact it really looks like they're having a good scratch at nits.

I find it all very odd. In my opinion, there's nothing nicer than well groomed long hair looking silky and shiny when it's just been brushed.
But what do I know, i'm just an old fogey.

I knew a girl once who had lovely long black hair all down her back. It was a pity though it didn't grow on her head.

But the worst thing I witnessed fairly recently was two bald-headed men fighting over the ownership of a comb.

Mine have got sparse over the last few years, I've hardly any left. I have to pencil them in ~ carefully. I hate the hard line some women draw.

btw ~ my baldy brother has a beard. I tell him his head is upside-down

I could never get my hair to grow down as far as my shoulders.

Think my eyebrows might do it now if I let them..

There's a bloke at work whose hair is thinning on top. He has it short, but has one long scrawny dreadlock down his back. :-|

My brother had really long hair back in the 60s & 70s

He started losing his hair in his early twenties.

Ended up with a wee bit at the back......said he was fed up with it, had to go for "haircuts" on hair that he couldn't even see!

One night, after a few glasses of red, he shaved it all off!

It suits him! The totally bald look is "trendy" :-D

IMHO the worst "do" for men...... going bald on top, long at the back in a ponytail!

I find it gets in the ice cream too much

One chap I used to work with is/was in a band and he needed it to be long to fit with the image of said band so I did understand that, there is a man I see almost every day who doesn't even brush his but it is tied back, I think it would look good if he brushed it before he tied it back instead of leaving it all matted, yuk.

You'd love my nephews dark hair sprawling across your pilliow.....its thick, dark and glossy half way down his back,,,,,,,tied back in the daytime as he works in a bank,,,,,,but after work,,,,

its all let loose and he clads his feet in bright green,pink,orange or blue doc martens hes a 26 hunky ,,,,,,,plays in a group,

I love long hair, and it generally takes me three years to grow it to waist length.

However, now that I am old and grey, I feel that long hair would look silly on me.

If I had the cheek to do it, I would have my hair long, but I do tend to resemble the wicked witch of the west when it is longer than my shoulders.

I've genreally had short/shortish hair, cut either by my sister or a hairdresser. When I went to Uni 16 years ago, I grew my hair long, and had it in a french plait.
After I left uni and got a job, I had it cut short again, initially by my sister, then a hairdresser. Then the hairdresser left, and I couldn't find one I liked. Certainly didn't like spending £60 on something my sister could have done better :-|
So, I've grown it long again.
I still put it in a french plait, but now I tuck the plait under, so I look like I'm off to some sort of dressage :-D
I find this sooo much easier than 'styling' short hair every morning.
