Am I alone in thinking that the police should have better things to do than to be dealing with this sort of nonsense.?

Why do some people feel the need to bring the police in over such every day domestic issues? I just don't get it !!!

I agree Muffs,,,,,,,,,what a waste of local money on a court case that could have been dealt with at a local station in 10 mins,,,,,,,,,,smack of both hands and sent on their way with a stern look.....

Hi Muffy, I totally agree with you, the police should be out dealing with more serious things than 2 silly women having an argument. Name calling isn't a criminal offence, it is just like children having a 'fall out' in the playground.

People do get upset if they are abused racially. Not usually if it is friendly banter, but both these cases appear to have been abuse, pure and simple.

Edit. Football authorities punish players and crowds who racially abuse (even in the heat of battle) more than they do for purposely breaking limbs or biting chunks out of opponents.

I wouldn't have reported it and then had all my dirty linen aired in public. Don't think I'd want to be known as the man's "mistress".

Oh great - the police will deal with this, but call them in the middle of the night when you think someone is breaking in, they don't respond....

Reading between the lines, it does sound as if it isn't the first time they've 'had words' and she has felt harrased. The Accuser is quoted that it was 'the last straw'.

What I particularly like is that the Mail has helpfully added a picture of cows, just in case there is someone who's never seen one............... :-D :-D

Name-calling has long term consequences - particularly if about size, race, colour of skin, colour of hair, sexual preferences. Most of which an individual cannot change, but will struggle desperately to change. Often at huge cost.

I have bene thinking about penalties in football for calling somebody racial names and biting an opponent. Why penalty for biting and dangerous tackles is usually much milder than racial slurs. But I now think it is right to really clamp down on name calling.

You're old fashioned, Muffy. Get with the kids. "English cow" is not fair comment when you are a person. And the cows were Welsh Blacks in photo, so they will also be suing :-)

It must be awful living next door to some of these people. No wonder we all turn sound up on our computers and pretend the world is not passing us by. Or we watch JKyle and turn sound right down and just watch the amusing body language.

I think I'll stay in my old fashioned bubble John... where a mild insult isn't the end of the world or grounds for a court case........it's comfortable here and it makes more sense than screaming to teacher and being *offended* at every turn lol.
