My mum in law had both hips, both knees & a shoulder replacement.

We called her Bionic woman.

I have titanium pins in both feet (so small, I don't they'd bother looking for them). I now have one less pin in each foot, because they worked their way loose!

How macabre.

My daughter-in- law had a ceramic hip replacement before the age of 40.

She suffers from psoriatic arthritis, and has terrible trouble in her knee, shoulder.

Her knee has to be drained on a regular basis and she has to have injections in
her shoulder too, just to ease the pain.

She is also on very strong medication, which is also prescribed for cancer
patients.

I feel so sorry for her and guilty too that I am so much older do not have this to
contend with.
