I bought something from Sainsbury's last week that was called Minestrone Mix.It was just a bag of quick cook lentilly things, beans, peas and stuff, with some small pasta.

They suggested you just boil it in some salted water with fresh veg if you liked.Without the veg it would have been a bowl of pulses and pasta in salt water, so I put in what was lurking in the furthest reaches of my fridge and veg rack with some shredded eaves of something that grows up the garden and we have forgotten what it is.Some sort of perpetual spinach, not dock leaves anyway!

With the addition of a couple of green Oxos it was amazingly delicious.Enough for two bowls and no room for any more or I would have had some.

I know what I am having for lunch!

Many years ago Sainsburys did a packet of minestrone soup that made a lovely spag bol, made up using half of the water they stated, but they altered the recipe.

My nearest store is 20 miles away. Shame as that is something I would like to try out.

I had it delivered.

Actually it was a mystery shop we picked up at short notice because the company had been let down.
