Gins I like the expression I did pants at school exams - can completely empathise

It affects most of my family from childhood - as I said my sis is a dyslexia consultant in Plymouth. Have to ask her to explain.

I felt it is enough, some of the ridiculous unnecessary comments about my spelling and mixing up dates etc. They have no right.

No nobody heard of speech recognition softwear,,,,!.

It types what you say ,mind its not 100% sometimes,

Lots of office workers with dyslexia use it.

also theres a voice recognition softwear for people who suffer eye problems or are blind,

My dyslexia wasn't discovered until I was in uni! No wonder I did 'pants' in school exams

It is a mild form, I can read just fine (Good job with the occupation I have!) but I tend to miss 'link' words when I write. I can't read 'coloured text' at all, it jumps all over the place

When I'm at work, I re read emails 'backwards' to check I have not missed anything.

On here, I don't give a hoot.......I'm not at work

However, you can't just overcome dyslexia overnight, if indeed at all. If you were posting and the text was good one day, and not the next.....it's a mistake and not dyslexia

Sorry, but I find your first sentence intriguing:
'I have been dyslexic all my life'
Strangely, so have all other dyslexics!!
It's not an illness that is 'caught', or a syndrome that 'comes out' at a later date.
It's a condition one is born with - may not be diagnosed until later - but it's been there all the time!!

Dyslexia tends to affect spelling & handwriting, not knowledge.

I'm never detered about writing. Sometimes it comes out a bit gibberish but what the heck

PigletsPal - if that is true you would know there are different forms of dylexia.

I would like to refer you to your reply to a lady on another thread about Panic Attacks - your reply was eloquent, sympathetic and no spelling or grammar mistakes (except for the Beetles when you meant the Beatles)

Now I have worked with many people who are Dyslexic and they have not only problems with spelling etc., but their written work is also poor grammatically. So for all of your past contributions to be pretty reasonable I find your original posting on here a bit ambiguous.....

There are quite a lot of posters on the Boards whose spelling and/or grammar are not perfect. Whether this is due to careless typing, a lack of formal education or some other reason is irrelevant. All that matters is that the message can be understood.

Nobody should be put off from posting because they think they might make mistakes.

All I would ask is that care is taken to get dates right when you want people to look things up!!

Who said anything about who was in your home!?

Do you mean that you need someone else to proof read your own posts and to read you other posts. If so - say so.

I have the spell & grammar checker on my computer. I know for bad dyslexics this doesn't help - but at least it would indicate to you on your own posts that there may be an issue.

That is not an order!

Most of the comments about your posts are just about the content of the post
not the grammar.

And what I do find odd about thi post is that in the vast majority of all your older posts they are fine, spelling looks OK and grammatically they are pretty accurate. So now suddenly you cannot spell or write a sentence correctly.

I have been dyslexic all my life. It hasn't stopped me being the CEO of several companies during my life.

Nowadays all my polical & community work is checked before it is dispatched.

It doesn't bother me - There are stragegies to cope with it.

One of my sis is a dylexia consultant in Plymouth.

Have explained on the boards that I don't see the obvious bad grammar and spelling mistakes. Many kind members correct me and very often it is a pm.

Now I am getting orders that I should edit my posts before posting.

It really is insulting to say the least.
Does it really matter if a post is edited after posting.

There must be others who have this problem on the boards

I'm going to look back for some of the insulting posts and put the url links on this post.
