yourself for thinking things like "He/she can't help it, they had a bad childhood/ previous experience of...." or "He/she can't help it, its their age"

and then you kick yourself because, other people you know have had bad things happen / they are old or ill but still they don't behave badly or play on their age or past for sympathy or as an excuse for not doing something.

I do it a lot, the 'you have to feel sorry for her because....' and then resent the fact that I am giving the person a free 'get out of jail card' for behaviour that's not acceptable. when the real reason is that they are so busy thinking about themselves they just can't be bothered to think about anyone else.

Stray I just found myself doing it, over something that is beginning to niggle horribly lol , it just involves me asking someone to do something over a long period and it not happening...I've made all the excuses for them and now I'm getting peeved! :-D

Now there is making allowances and making allowances , depends how big they are, the smaller ones are much more easy :-)

Of the hundreds of excuses, few count for much. Nobody came into this world with a little mark on their shoulder that identified them as suitable only for second-best.
