OneFootInTheGrave Report 9 May 2013 14:49

It has been announced that David Moyes is leaving as manager of Everton, looks like he will be taking over Fergie's old job at Old Trafford.

David Moyes was 2/1 on at lunchtime and he has become more and more odds on this afternoon. It would now be a major shock if his appointment is not announced by Friday.

Betting for possible Everton vacancy is:
Martinez 8/11
Poyet 10/1
Lennon 14/1
Zola 16/1
Mackay 20/1
Bruce 100/1

Looks like a shoe-in for Martinez, but am not at all sure about that. Not a betting man, but if I was I would have put a score on Malky Mackay today at 20/1 :-) ;-)

I am sad to see Sir Alex go and he is a legend, he is a grafter , he will always have my full respect, he is a very nice bloke ( I have met him) but he is entitled to retire and spend time with his family.

Vera. I am more concerned that your daughter is not applying for vacant football managers if she has ginger hair.

We are desperate for a plucky ginger manager at Wolves, where Dean Saunders has been given the shove (tenth manager they have lost in about six weeks) :-0 No experience required, just youth, loads of enthusiasm and ginger hair.

If you have no emoticons, you can still do smiles and sad faces by using other keys ie : followed by - followed by ) makes a smiley face :-)

That's ok, Vera, I could see you smiling anyway :-)

vera2010 Report 8 May 2013 18:53

Didn't think either of you were discriminating again gingers. Thought I reflected that in my post. Haven't got any emocions to do the smiley faces

Vera...I was ginger for about 40 years...I love ginger! But not as Manager of Man United...he will just have to dye it grey, so her will :-D

Who is JLH, Vera.

Certainly not "yours truly" who was told at the age of 7 whilst being wheeled through for a tonsilectomy by the male nurse "you will be ok, young man. No need to cry. Ginger for pluck".

And both of my children are "auburn" (I think that's what they call it). In all my life, I have only positively discrimated in favour of ginger hair. Wish I still had some :-( :-(

vera2010 Report 8 May 2013 18:29

Ah BC and JLH how could you. My daughter has red hair. However, she is not up for any football managers job so thats OK.

IGP, Not logical this time. The Boss should get more than his Staff and when you think what his players get, his pay is only fair.

InspectorGreenPen Report 8 May 2013 18:23

I sincerely hope he is well remembered.

As one of the highest paid managers on a reputed £7 Million plus salary doesn't this make him a contender for a Fat Cat?

But then, the CE of British Gas, a far bigger organisation than MFC only got £2 million plus bonuses.

One rule for one, one for the other it would seem.

JustJohn Report 8 May 2013 18:21

BC :-D :-D

Moyes had big staring cold eyes, and looks threatening and is very Scottish. And he has shown huge respect for Everton and had definitely made a silk purse out of a sow's ear :-)

And Malky Mackay has cold eyes, looks threatening and is very Scottish. A pattern is emerging ;-)

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 8 May 2013 18:15

I don't fancy David Moyes, he is too quiet and soft spoken...and he is ginger :-D

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 8 May 2013 18:12

Another one for the possible vacancy at Everton. Malky Mackay (Cardiff City) is being touted in this area as the new Everton manager.

Ooohhh!! Isn't this managerial merry-go-round fascinating :-D :-D

And a big well done to Sir Alex. Can't see him bowing out totally. He will be in the boardroom with Sir Bobby and others, and I expect he will take a lot more interest in horse racing and family - particularly careers and lives of his children and grandchildren :-)

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 8 May 2013 16:48

Hot favourite for job is David Moyes apparently. Who will succeed him at Everton? I was thinking of 3 managers - Martinez of Wigan, Lennon of Celtic and Bruce of Hull.
