Thank goodness for that, BK. It must be quite a lightweight one :-)

Incidentally, I have left a message for you on every thread you have instigated which appears on first ten pages of Genes chats. :-D

Call it a day, Nolls :-S :-S

Now we have thrashed out the young driver and agreed to differ, there is still:

1. General question of our compensation culture.
2. The interesting level of compensation paid out by police and other companies to their own staff for minor injuries.

I know in supermarkets, it has often been felt by the lawyers that it is better to settle with a customer or member of staff than fight it. We managers knew that only too well, as a major settlement would be charged to our profits and could push our store below the line when it was reviewed for closure. Even if three-quarters of right was on our side, company would settle because of probable high legal costs and possible bad local publicity.

OK Everybody We are all entitled to our opinions so lets call it a day , my goodness never been so famous for good or bad reasons (and only back a very short time after a couple of years away .. don't think I'll be allowed back haha) anyway I know what I think but that's it. Thanks everyone for all your replies

BK. Don't recognise that. I must have apologised for being wrong many more times than most posters.

If I am sure I am right, I will say so with some conviction. This family was entitled to compensation based on police breaking law and own rules at time. Other things brought up may have influenced level of compensation offered.

If I think I have a good point, I will just watch other points and take them on board.

If I am unsure or make a mistake and proved wrong, I will admit it. And have admitted it quite often.

Name calling or baiting has no effect whatsoever on my views though. If I feel I am right in my opinion, I will not back off just because I receive baits or insults - from however many want to insult me, my maturity or my intelligence :-D

You only think it's been a good thread because, you refuse to accept other people’s opinions, & refuse to accept that maybe you might be wrong now & then. So long as you continue to be like that it can't possibly be a good example of good thread practice as it’s like a one sided conversation. Even now you will say I am wrong or make out I don’t know what I am talking about or twist what I say, but it doesn’t matter anymore.

I won't comment on the subject of this thread as I do not have the facts. so it would be wrong for me to do so.

Been a good thread though, I think. Nolls should be pleased with response. :-) Some excellent posts and a bit of friction. What good serious threads should be about.

TheBlackKnight

I don't think so

Must be a reason. Perhaps I just assumed it was a positive reason :-)

ChristinaS has it been removed - I can't see anything about good thread practice.

I was puzzled when a poster said

"Nolls. I see that this thread has been sent to Genes as an example of good thread practice. Congratulations are in order, I think"
