a good thing about Cyprus - and Ayia Napa in partcular - is that I alwys get at least one new pair of specs every time I go - their eye testing equipment used to be far superior to ours and the optcians I always use is Vrakimis on the Nissi Road - you must have passed it Paula. Next door to the Strawberry Cafe. The two female opticians, sisters, and daughters of the owner, both did their training here in Cardiff. Great selection of frames and a very speedy service and much cheaper than the UK

We stayed in Protaros two years ago and yes, AnnC, Ayia Napa wasn't as bad as we thought. We went in early season so the crowds hadn't arrived yet. Some nice restaurants there and a nice beach.

I think I will be resorting to wearing a face mask next time. I love Cyprus too.

Paula - I came back from America last October with a chest infection, most likely from the air conditioning on the coach we were touring in as it started on the last day, and I wasn't the only one!
Short of wearing a mask, I don't suppose there is a lot you can do.
Glad you had a great holiday - I really like Cyprus, especially Paphos. :-)

Thank you FS & Mersey Its good to be back.

AnnC We stayed in Nissis Bay, we walked into Ayia Nappa several times, and was very pleasantly surprised. Lovely beaches and some tip top restaurants, there seemed to be something for everyone. :-D

Edit: NISSI BAY :-D :-D :-D :-D

A friend of mine suffered in exactly the same way Paula - such a nuisance. She has now resorted to wearing a face mask during the flight - problem solved.
Hope you feel better soon :-)

.......

from our wonderful holiday in Cyprus, It seems that every-time I travel anywhere by plane I end up with a chest infection and I am now on antibiotics. I have been told this is caused by the air-conditioning on the plane and in the hotels, we turn off the air con in our room, but what can I do about the plane?
