What do you do when someone obviously and constantly copies things you wear, what you buy for the house etc. OH laughs and says imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, I think sometimes it is a pain in the rear end. :-D :-D :-D

I had a copier. What I couldn't understand was why anybody would want to be me!

She had a lot more than I did in so many ways but it seems I made her feel inferior.

FGS how?!

Phyll

Phyll Report 22 May 2013 12:20

I had a neighbour who copied everything I had down to the same wallpaper and furniture.
I asked her one day why she did this and she said 'you have such good taste'.
I then told her she should think for herself and as she was three times the size of me, things didn't look good on her.
She moved shortly afterwards. :-D

That would make no difference to me Paula. ;-). I have this habit of saying exactly what I think. I can never be accused of going behind someones back :-D

Phyll that's what OH tells me. I am a size 12, she is a size 20, but she still wears the same (obviously size 20. Monday evening OH told her about the new swimming bands I have recently brought for the little grandsons, she has just texted me to ask where I got them from she wants to get some for her grandchildren.

I did notice that my copier wanted instant gratification in things.

They found putting in the groundwork to do or achieve anything far too tedious and wanted it NOW!

Whatever I had had been thought about and saved for before I had it.My food processor which is worked to death and the purchase of which was deliberated about for ages was one case in point. It was seen in my kitchen and a new one was bought the same week.

This person does not even cook!

Turn it into a private game Paula. Buy some cheap and tacky pieces, wait until she gets the same then offer her yours "as she obviously likes them so much"

No, I haven't done this - I'm just bl@ddy jealous because no-one copies my taste in clothes and furnishings LOL. Words are another matter but that's just sad.

;-) :-D :-D

Sharron. She told me some time ago she did not like scented candles in her house, I love to lght them in the evening, We called in to see her on Monday evening. guess what? she has several scented candles on the mantleshelf. I feel so pathetic saying all of this but it is just so blatent.

Bless you AnnC. Would I have to prove it ;-)

It is disconcerting isn't it?

I was not prepared for it at all, especially not from this person.

I had grown used to it in a slightly different way with my mother who had to be most ill at all times.

I remember going to work with a sore wrist from messing about at the weekend when I was a teenager.
My dad's job involved driving past both my work and our house several times a day.During the course of this day I had had to go to the hospital and have my wrist strapped so I showed him as he passed.

He had evidently been indoors because,by the time I came in from work,my mother had managed to burn both her hands taking something out of the oven

Disconcerting is the correct word, though I think your Momther did seem to go to the extreme. I have tried to understand why people do this, but I am at a loss with OHs sister, she is not much of a cook, but is always telling me how to cook, she is size 20, I am size 12 and is always telling me what we should and should not eat.

Island

Island Report 22 May 2013 13:39

Wend, that wouldn't have been copying - it would have been nicking! LOL
Thank you for the compliment though :-D :-D

Where have you been? Have your ears been burning? ;-) :-D :-D

Our previous next door neighbour was like that, we painted our front door mustard yellow, few weeks later they painted theirs the same, I decided I did not like colour so painted green, yes you guessed they copied. No matter how much I liked something there is no way I could copy, especially when it is there for everyone to see.

lolol

I think the tattoo is a great idea!

You can get the temporary ones, I think they last a week......... not a bit like the horrible transfers we got in lucky bags when we were kids.

Go on Paula, I dare you.......... get a bluebird of happiness on your bosom <3

Exodus chapter 20 verse 17

When she asks what it means give her some examples.-jl
