Harmonyb. I am sure you are right. There has been a lot of anecdotes about this conning on various programmes.

Presenters like Jeremy Kyle are the ones who suffer. They have to live in big houses on large country estates - so removed and isolated from their genuine friends. Spare a thought for them as we eat our home made lemon meringue pie and they have to go to a smart restaurant and eat Maronnes Glace (translation - "frosty sailors")or some other tasteless "delicacy". :-) :-) :-)

One thing is for sure - all of the participants have/had a mum & a dad who probably loved them as best they could.

Nevertheless, some appear battered, bruised & bewildered looking for the healing power of forgiveness. And nobody on this weird planet wants to be considered as ugly; rude or inadequate.

I'm uncertain about the studio audience though.

Amen!

AnnCardiff Report 1 Jun 2013 21:24

well I'm gonna fess up here - I watch it every day cos it sets me up for the whole day and I feel so much better about my life after watching it

I could never go on it cos I don't have a tattoo of any description and do not have teeth like a row of condemned houses - or like the No: 37 bus - one every so often!

I do not start every sentence with "basically" - I'd just never fit in :-S :-S

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 1 Jun 2013 21:32

Basically, AnnCardiff with the tattoos, I agree - or would do once I put my teeth back in which I cannot do because I have lent them to one of my partners so she can eat a Big Mac. Now, please let me finish this can of Tennants Extra. I need to sober up now so that I can write a sermon.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 1 Jun 2013 22:35

that's it - spluttered coffee all over the keyboard :-D :-D I do not think it would be a conversation fit for the boards - it has to be done in private ;-)

SueCar

SueCar Report 2 Jun 2013 00:23

Dermot, I do agree. A lot of hurting people whose only tactic is to attack others (usually their ex-partners). Of course they only feel better momentarily for doing that and the other person feels diminished. What they actually needed was gentleness & kindness in their lives when they were younger & didn't get it maybe.

On a lighter note: Errol, you don't 'arf make me chuckle, chuck! (lol, lol, lol) Has your wool been genitally modified? Is that why it's gone green, luv? ;-)

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 2 Jun 2013 10:13

genitally modified!!!?? oh dearie me :-D :-D :-D Errol dear heart, tell me you have not been genitally modified - please - or we cannot have that conversaton about your collection of knobs

Sue - without meaning to be cruel or unkind in any which way - you've made my day :-D :-D

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 2 Jun 2013 10:26

I agree as with the Phillpots sadly these people are real very real, I can not understand for the life of why anyone would want to appear on national TV to prove the parentage of their child or discuss the most their private bits of their lives. I do feel their lack of intelligence is the key factor and makes them easy meat to producers of such shows but venerable to others in live that are able to live their normal lives in society. Are these people of low intelligence being exploited? No they are lining up to take part in this ridiculous circus. It’s almost medieval, sitting in the town’s square waiting for the village idiots to be ridiculed and humiliated whilst others watch with glee.

2 other shows wind me up as well, WDYTYA, we all know the so called celebrities that appear only do so if there is a hint of scandal in their family history, they do not a jot of the research. The other show is Lost families. Davina turns up at someone’s house and cameraman is already situated in the persons house, the person is then informed “ we have found your brother” quell surprise ! Hand to mouth and then squeeze out the tears. It makes me want to vomit.

Ha! Glad I've made you laugh, Ann. :-) :-) :-)

In the cold light of day (lovely day today by the way :-) :-) ) I was a bit worried somebody might have been offended and want to 'baa' my comments about Errol.

Perhaps we should be bit more charitable in our voiced opinions.

People, that's us, come in various shapes & sizes but all having a unique identity. Despite a few comments otherwise on here, babies are not produced on a factory bench based on a particular design drawing. Even twins are rarely identical even to the human eye - what's inside them & us all matters greatly.

Perhaps those who we scoff at would just like a little bit of kindness from time to time.

And another thing, when we die & are buried, our decaying bodies begin to smell the same after the greedy worms have had their fill.
