Just back from Hidcote (N Trust garden). It was cloudy when we got there despite leaving here in sunshine, but by 11.30ish the sun came out and it was windy but very pleasant.

The garden seems to be a bit behind like most this year but, loads of aquilegia, peonies. poppies (red, yellow orange and brilliant blue), Rhododendrons, forgetmenots plus alpines and a few tulips and bluebells. We managed to avoid the coach party of Japanese and another of French people by dodging off into the wilder part of the garden where they tend not to take parties. After we had finished in the garden we had a picnic lunch overlooking a large meadow full of sheep and their lambs.

We try and get there a couple of times a year. Don't usually go on a Saturday but holiday is looming so had to take advantage of a spare day.

Merlin, all the sheep appeared to have four legs but I couldn't quite see the tubby black and white striped one lurking under the trees :-D
