Here are a few famous people who have featured on stamps around the World: Sir Elton John - Australia, Robert De Niro - Gambia, Margaret Thatcher - Kenya, can you name a few more... ?

Belgian Congo - Henry Morton Stanley 1928
Calf of Man - Robin Gibb 2013
Lundy - Benjamin Franklin 1976

Being famous enough for a stamp is the sincerest form of philately :-) ;-)

I think a lot of stamp collectors collect certain subjects. Thus, if there are stamps about Brazilian footballers, they will collect them all.

I wonder what is the smallest place that issues own stamps. On this thread we have Lundy Island in Bristol Channel and Calf of Man, which is the little island the the south of Isle of Man. And don't suppose St Vincent and Grenada are huge places. :-)

I would have thought that The Vatican City must be one of the smallest places to have it's own postage stamps?
As far as I recall.... it's the world's smallest nation :-D :-D

Adolph Hitler

Does this invoke Godwin's Law?

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 13 Jun 2013 08:13

Just looked at Germany:

1941 - Adolph Hitler
1964 - John F Kennedy
1982 - Robert Koch

And Godwin's law seems to imply that, in any debate, it is only a matter of time before anyone mentions Robert :-) :-)
