What ideas would you like to see brought in from other European countries, to our country ? Perhaps you think Sweden, Spain, Italy, or Germany has some very good ideas... ?

I love the siesta, but we don't have the weather for it :-D

GHeather Report 12 Jun 2013 23:06

That's a good one SheilaWW, a siesta would be fantastico! But, your right about our weather!

We lived in Germany for a while, and we really liked the quiet Sundays.

That's law in Germany (at least some, not sure if it's all areas) ~ it even includes lawn mowers!

Exemption ~ church bells!

I think I like Germany's idea for a quiet Sunday how nice to have all the bustle of normal living curtailed for a day, can remember Sundays as a child so quiet hardly any traffic around would walk to church ...mmm nice bring it on!

One of best things imported from Europe to Cardiff Bay is al fresco dining on the quay.

How lovely to sit outside the Italian restaurant, being serenaded by an Italian crooner and gazing across the azure to the gleaming white Norwegian church across the bay - with little boats bobbing in the warm evening sunshine as you quaff chilled Chianti. So romantico :-D :-D

One thing I think we should adopt is the French attitude to government etc.

They will go on the streets for most 'problems'

Blockade the ports, strike at the drop of a hat (far more willling in some cases than our unions)

They seem to be far more aware as a nation when they are being shafted by either their government or Europe.

Power to the People - Up the Tooting Liberation Front .... :-D :-D :-D

Interesting! :-)
