Wend Report 16 Jun 2013 23:19

I wish I'd changed my first name years ago, but now I feel it's too late. Admittedly, the only time I hear it is when I'm called for at hospital appointments, but I always cringe at the sound of it :-|

AnnCardiff Report 16 Jun 2013 23:53

well I was christened Patricia Ann, but a few days after a neighbour had a baby girl and called her Patricia Ann - my Mum was infuriated and immediately called me Ann for which I am forever grateful - I hate the Patricia and never use it, but that's what I'm called when I'm at the doctor's surgery :-(

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 17 Jun 2013 06:55

When I was a child I did because no one had heard of my name.

"That's Welsh, isn't it?" "What?" "How would you spell that?"

I've grown into it now but I always had a bit of a yearning for a Jane Austen sort of name - Emma, Emily, Charlotte, Phoebe, Caroline, Henrietta etc.

I was secretly jealous of a school friend called Hermione.

Dermot Report 17 Jun 2013 07:29

My mum Margaret was always known as 'Peg' & likewise my dad James was known as 'Sonny'.

I don't really mind what I'm called as long as it's not too early in the morning.

Huia Report 17 Jun 2013 08:23

My dad always called me 'wee one' even when I was a teenager and bigger than my 2 older sisters. There was a younger sister too, 3 yrs younger.
