:-( does anyone else get emails from GR saying Hi, is this your relative? Then when you go to the site to check there is no record to check? This has happened to me on a number of occasions.

I often get those emails; but I've always ignored them. Most of the time they refer to people I already have on my tree. If they are on my tree it's because I've already seen the records.

I get them too. Sometimes they are names which are not in my tree

Researching:
Matthew and Jane Elwood who had my great great grandfather Francis Edward Elwood baptised in 1807 at Horsham Sussex. There is no sign of Matthew or Jane from this date and my great great grandfather was brought up as Francis Edward Elwood MITCHELL

I get notices on their Facebook page,
ie.. "Suggest Genes Reunited to Your Friends", and there is a list of my friends complete with their avatar piccies.
I find this an invasion of my privacy. and should not be happening. Of course GR will blame facebook , but GR must be lending its name to this sneaky form of advertising. :-|

I doubt that anyone else can see your list of friends BR same as no one else will see mine along with the ones who have already liked GR

As for the emails I ignore them because I am sure if you click on them it will take credits (if you have any)...I only have 60 people in my GR tree so I recognise the names from the emails. I never get them for myself and my parents as we are not on the tree
