you rattled my cage actually with this senseless comment on a thread which has been reported and then reinstated

"What!............. I've not even read it - must have been nasty for it to be rrr'd so soon."

you never read it yet you assume it must have been nasty

Cynthia would like a response to her query - what exactly is a "holier than thou thread"

take your time - no hurry

A Tinker is a traveler a person who mends things,

And quite different from a Gypsy

JoyBoroAngel Report 28 Jun 2013 19:51

People get confused between Gypsy's of Romany decent,
and Irish Tinkers.

But tinker is also a term used to say somebody is a bit naughty
i think thats what Lynda meant
but she would have to define that herself
but thats how i read the post as meaning
:-D :-D

Nanna Sue there is no way Lynda was being rude saying tinker!! pmsl :-D :-D

~Lynda~ Report 28 Jun 2013 19:28

NS I now know your definitely having a laugh, if tinker is an insult in your world, then you need to move worlds. After the word you used last week, I really think you need a dictionary to know what words are acceptable and what words aren't.

If you don't want to read condolence messages and happy birthday messages, then it's quite easy, don't look for them, don't read them and don't add to them, your choice.

You crack me up you do :-D

Edit... your message to Ann, which you added after your original post, is extremely rude. :-(

CupCakes Report 28 Jun 2013 19:20

~Lynda~ you're getting a bit rude - tinker is an insult in my world - feel stupid never - me, what for a thread that has been deleted because of small minded people - I'm made of stronger stuff. I'm not a wus in a raincoat hiding it the dark.

I was looking for Mr Magoo and John's threads which are great and funny.
I'm not interested in condolence messages and happy birthday - meaningless to anybody who doesn't know them. :-D :-D :-D

Ann who has rattled your cage ................................. <3 <3

Ann I read your original post this morning before I went out and I honestly did not think you were referring to any particular person. I do agree that the boards have been a lot better over the last few days some funny some serious, but always respectful :-D in my opinion.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 28 Jun 2013 17:12

thank you Carole - appreciated

AnnCardiff Report 28 Jun 2013 17:10

when on the odd occasion I have reported a posting I have said so, no big deal really is it - if you feel you've done right, well just say so

Rambling Report 28 Jun 2013 16:52

Bob I agree anonymity often is the cause of upset, and not just in the obvious ways of being able to report without saying you have, but the 'honesty' ways where a person changes board name with intent to deceive
( like the person who thinks posts made under a previous name can't be spotted as being from the same person as their 'new' name lol)

But the alternative is to say you have reported, and then receive intimidating, or frankly aggressive PMs saying 'you shouldn't have done it, you're in a gang' etc...or worse. That is why most people won't just ASK someone to delete a post and resort to the report button in the first place ( excluding the 'mad as a box of frogs' posters who would report anything if it suits ;-) )

Re the village wives over the fence...there's also a fair amount of testosterone induced posturing from the male contingent I think ;-)

~Lynda~

~Lynda~ Report 28 Jun 2013 16:35

Bob I don't think it's the fishing wives that hang over the fence, have a look at the men's gossip & comments that's posted on here, make your hair curl it would ;-)

supercrutch Report 28 Jun 2013 16:28

I didn't get my knuckles rapped by GR, not a peep from them, a few friends frowned upon me..lolol

I do not watch Wimbledon, I cannot get out into the garden I have been writing loads of letters re the house move....exciting eh?

Tomorrow I shall be busy watching the Lions and F1 qualifying then directing the removal of duplicated items in the house to the garage before I advertise them for sale.

Sunday we pick up eldest and take her to visit youngest and hubby and our 2 grandchildren :-D

How much time will I have for GR? ...not a lot ;-) but if something interesting/controversial pops up my radar will ping ;-) :-P
