Ann I read your original post this morning before I went out and I honestly did not think you were referring to any particular person. I do agree that the boards have been a lot better over the last few days some funny some serious, but always respectful :-D in my opinion.

~Lynda~ you're getting a bit rude - tinker is an insult in my world - feel stupid never - me, what for a thread that has been deleted because of small minded people - I'm made of stronger stuff. I'm not a wus in a raincoat hiding it the dark.

I was looking for Mr Magoo and John's threads which are great and funny.
I'm not interested in condolence messages and happy birthday - meaningless to anybody who doesn't know them. :-D :-D :-D

Ann who has rattled your cage ................................. <3 <3

NS I now know your definitely having a laugh, if tinker is an insult in your world, then you need to move worlds. After the word you used last week, I really think you need a dictionary to know what words are acceptable and what words aren't.

If you don't want to read condolence messages and happy birthday messages, then it's quite easy, don't look for them, don't read them and don't add to them, your choice.

You crack me up you do :-D

Edit... your message to Ann, which you added after your original post, is extremely rude. :-(

People get confused between Gypsy's of Romany decent,
and Irish Tinkers.

But tinker is also a term used to say somebody is a bit naughty
i think thats what Lynda meant
but she would have to define that herself
but thats how i read the post as meaning
:-D :-D

A Tinker is a traveler a person who mends things,

And quite different from a Gypsy

you rattled my cage actually with this senseless comment on a thread which has been reported and then reinstated

"What!............. I've not even read it - must have been nasty for it to be rrr'd so soon."

you never read it yet you assume it must have been nasty

Cynthia would like a response to her query - what exactly is a "holier than thou thread"

take your time - no hurry

Rambling Report 28 Jun 2013 20:06

NanaSue in YOUR world someone is a "racist" for using the VERY old expression "talking to the organ grinder and not the monkey" ( QV...nothing to do with race) so your world is rather strange !

especially as you refer to this board on another thread thus

"I take the boards to be light hearted especially in the chat room. Once it is gone it is gone - I don't remember or careless about most of it. I don't need to clutter my brain with mindless information. "

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 28 Jun 2013 20:13

and how often have any of us referred to a small child as a little tinker - not nasty in any way at all - and endearing term in my book

Rambling

Rambling Report 28 Jun 2013 20:15

often Ann, along with 'little monkey','scamp', 'little rascal', 'scallywag' etc etc. EDIT oh and 'pumpkin' ....

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 28 Jun 2013 20:18

I have a friend who's surname is Tinker - a highly respected doctor in this area

~Lynda~

~Lynda~ Report 28 Jun 2013 20:19

NS knows exactly what I meant, after all she a good London gal, so she says.

If you actually READ my post NS, it says "I think NS is a bit of a tinker" a bit of a Gypsy? you either are or aren't a Gypsy, and what is wrong with saying Gypsy non pc my arm, my Great Great Grandfather was a Gypsy, lovely bloke. Report me to the powers that be for racism if you wish NS, they'll have a good laugh like I have.

It's Friday night,. GR aren't here for the weekend and NS can say things that will stay here until Monday, I'll assume she likes to be "seen"

Haven't had this much of a laugh on here in ages :-D :-D
