Well done everyone on their losses. We have had the weekend in London so three days of too much food. However I have not lost or gained which is a blessing so back on track today :-D :-D :-D

Well I'm back and 4lbs heavier than when I started!!!

I have had family staying and the cupboards were/are full of stuff that I would NEVER buy because if I do I eat them. I have had loads of meals out and as my granddaughter was here with her mum I have had ice cream, McDonalds, biscuits, crisps etc. We have made cakes and fudge and although we had lots of fun I also had lots of calories. I just can't say no so usually I don't buy these things.

I have just over a stone to lose and want to do it before it gets any worse. There's not much I don't know about diet and exercise as I used to teach it and was a fit, correct weight for height person at the time. Just lately I don't seem to be able to get into the right frame of mind and you do need to do this before you start.

So.....I'm starting again today and will give away (if I can find someone who wants it) all the fattening food still in the cupboard now the visitors have gone home.

Jules....how do you make a pastry free quiche?

~Lynda~ Report 23 Jul 2013 17:48

That's pretty impressive Teresa, having been on holiday and not gaining, well done to you :-D

TS, I want to lose just under a stone now, so if it helps I'll race you to do it :-D

A tip, for those at Slimming World where potatoes and eggs are free to eat on your diet....If I mash potatoes, I would usually add milk and butter, but now I beat in a raw egg to the mash, tastes as good as butter and milk, but it's all free to eat, so you can have much as you want.

Another thing I do is cook more potatoes than I need, and put what's over in dishes and freeze it, then you always have potatoes ready if you're in a bit of a hurry, and therefore are not tempted to eat something that you shouldn't.

:-D

Lynda, ok you're on. I am much the same weight and shape now as in my avatar. I was a lot thinner when I was younger but think about 1 st 3 lbs off would be about right now for my age. I'll race you. Starting tomorrow, I'll weigh in the morning. How much do you want to lose? :-)

~Lynda~

~Lynda~ Report 23 Jul 2013 19:30

What about a stone then? I'll put what I lose up on a Monday night, after club, and you can do the same whenever you choose.

It's good having someone to compete with, I think it gives you that extra boost to do well, and to say no to things you shouldn't eat.

This is war Teresa, let the battle begin :-D :-D :-D :-D

A stone is good. By the way I'm Wendy not Teresa :-D

To be honest it should be easier for me than you as you have already lost some and it does slow down as you go on.

I will weigh every Wednesday morning and put my losses( no gains) on here.

I will be over joyed if I can lose this stone.

Thanks for competing with me :-)

~Lynda~ Report 23 Jul 2013 21:36

Oops I know it's Wendy, Cooper is Teresa, sorry :-D

I've only been dieting for 5 weeks, and when I've done it before I usually lose 1-2lb's a week, which suits me, as I think if it comes off to quickly it'll go back on quickly, probably illogical but that's how I see it. A stone would be great, even if it takes a few months, who cares, as long as it comes off and doesn't go on I'll be happy :-D

Pastry free quiche:

Bacon, peppers, spring onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, 3 eggs, 200g of very low fat cottage cheese and black pepper...

Dry fry bacon, peppers, onions and tomatoes then put them in oven proof dish...Mix together the eggs and cottage cheese and pour over bacon etc, sprinkle with pepper and cook in oven for 30mins or until brown and firm, at about 180....Serve warm or cold....It is delicious :-D

PS....Baked bean lasagne is lovely too..... :-D

An idea ....

Lbs for pounds can we give Lynda our weight now and again in 6mths and for every pound loss we give to charity ...This does mean getting a sponsor

As said just an idea at the moment but would like to know who is interested

Cooper

Cooper Report 25 Jul 2013 13:54

That sounds like a good idea Uzzi.

I am going it alone and so far lost 12lbs, its been bit static this week but hopefully I have given it a kick start :-D I have a wedding to attend in a couple of weeks and although my outfit fits well it would be nice to have a bit of breathing room with all this hot weather. :-D

Give me a day or so ..I have 2 sponsors already but Saga has said about a web site that people can sponsor on ,,,,just giving I am trying to work out what it is all about. It seems like you all create your own page and send to your own charity (that´is good) but I thought we would do better as a whole.

I now have 3 sponsors

Well done to everyone who has lost weight, and to Teresa, who didn't gain while on holiday.
Wendy, I know what it is like - getting food in for other family members, then eating some yourself.
So much harder not to eat all the fun food when you have it in the cupboards.

Weighed myself this morning - again no weight loss, in fact I have probably put on one pound over the last two weeks :-(

Won't give up though. Am now eating a healthier diet lots more fruit, no chocolate or cakes and very few crisps or biscuits - (almost none!)

I am about two and a half stone heavier than I was at forty weeks pregnant. :-( :-
So feeling very heavy
Determined to get rid of my extra fat
:-) :-)

First weigh in was Wednesday morning, shock horror! My biggest problem is getting my brain into gear. I need to be motivated and I hope that competing with Linda will help me with that.

Wednesday and Thursday were both very good days food wise but I need to do more exercise which is quite hard work as it is so hot here at the moment.

Today, Friday, I went out to lunch with " the girls" we go every Friday. I passed on the bread and the garlic mayo and had a tomato starter and a chicken main. I did succombe to a glass of white wine. I sometimes have a child's portion. Only had a yoghurt this evening. I'm sort of doing the 5 and 2 day diet as its flexibility suits me.

I have tried to give the chocolate and biscuits left over from my visitors to my friends. You would think I was trying to poison them, nobody wanted them as just about every female I know is trying to lose weight and I can't bring myself to throw them away. I gave a packet of 6 bars of Twix to the road cleaner! I think he thought I was a bit weird as I can't imagine anyone has given him chocolate before when the temperature is about 30 degrees.
