What on earth has been going on here today? Why have so many of Errol's posts been RR'd?

I too, made a comment very similar to Errol's and felt that he had made a valid point.

Whomever has sent the posts for review, possibly has a limited knowledge of how the system works, as things aren't always as straightforward as they may seem.

There are several of us on these boards who have a wide experience of such matters - and much more besides.

Sounds like the problem is solved if he's going to change schools, Liz. I think that's for the best because it does seem as though the head doesn't want him in school and forcing the issue could make it uncomfortable for the poor little chap.

Nothing wrong with contacting the Chair of Governors about the attitude displayed by the head, though, I'd say. The Chair of Governors should always be the first port of call if the relationship with the head has broken down.

I've been a parent, a teacher and a governor so can see the situation from all sides and I'm somewhat ashamed of the school's attitude. It's true that some governors can be very friendly with head teachers and it can oil the wheels when a good relationships exists, but that doesn't stop them doing the job they are meant to do, I've found.

I hope he's happy and comfortable in his new school.

My comment earlier was only a generalisation not knowing which council or LEA is involved.

I can see that those in London seem to take a more aggressive approach when dealing with complaints.

We all know why Errol has been RR'd .................

Some members do not like their previous identity (or identities) being revealed

Some members do not like posts that disagree with what they have said.

As such, some members try to control the Boards and deny others their rights to free speech.


It is such a shame when this happens.

I assumed...............maybe wrongly that all schools and LEA followed the same procedure in cases like this.

Am I mistaken?

I have no idea what the situation is in the UK ...........

......... but I can tell you that schools and school districts/boards over here do differ in the way they carry out what should be the same procedure


............ so I would not be surprised to hear that it happens in the UK.


I fear that parents of children with "special needs", such as diabetes or other medications, can encounter the same problems over here that Liz has recounted.

It is quite amazing to me that there should be these differences between schools in the same district or between different school districts in the same province!

Let us not forget the original point of this thread despite some wanting to make it a battlefield

Perhaps the RR'er would take heed of the dislike being engendered by the constant RR'ing.

I got as far as reading the replies to page 2 and gave up. Have you looked at the school's policies for inclusion, administering medication. complaints procedure and bullying? Ask for copies and read them first. They can't refuse this request. Make a complaint to the school quoting bits of the policies and give a date a reply will be expected by. If this doesn't bring about a satisfactory response I would then send a letter to the Chair of Governors, the Education Department and Ofsted. CC the letter so they all know who is seeing it. Save the MP for afterwards.

There is some very good advice for them on here, from people who know what they are talking about, but it has all been taken over and, in a way, dismissed, because of all the reporting that has gone on.


However, hopefully, the fact that the little boy has been accepted into another school will remove their problems.

Problems that, however, will remain for other parents unless the head teacher can be brought to realise that her attitudes and behaviours are not the best.or most suitable!
