Nolls from Harrogate

Nolls from Harrogate Report 14 Jul 2013 21:11

Cynthia I am so glad that some people on this site have wide experience of such matters - alas I would think most of us poor souls do not ....However we are not unintelligent and believe me there is no set way you have to go about such matters (rules are made to be broken) I agree first step is Governors however if there is no confidence in the Governors then you must do what you think best, I've put down already what I would do (having had experience of problems and lies that certain persons were not contacted) and because you do not go by what is expected it does not stop the complaint from being considered. I might also add my OH worked in one of the big Civil Servant offices and if there was a complaint stating that an MP was going to be informed by golly that was put to the front of the list. I may add that the mother of this little boy would deem this an emergency and could not wait for meetings or until the powers that be got round to looking into the matter

Nolls, I was simply pointing out - as was Errol, that the first port of call in this case, would be to contact the Chair of Governors. To contact all those other people at this stage, would simply muddy the waters and may cause ill-feeling.

If nothing worthwhile comes from the Chair then it is time to move on further 'up the ladder' so to speak.

Hopefully, the little lad will be happily settled soon.

Cynthia I had problems I contacted the appropriate people ...nothing happened I waited weeks when I eventually got in contact I was told I had not been in touch with said body although I had had a phone call to them as well as letter. The result I went further and the original person was on the ball immediately . From then on if I send important letters I take copies and if I ever have another complaint I will send the same letter to their superiors . Anyway this seems to have a Happy outcome for the little lad changing school and I hope he gets all the help he needs. I am now out of this threead

KempinaPartyhat Report 14 Jul 2013 22:12

Look I cant see whats been said but I know .....as i had problems .....that the school has BY LAW a DUTY OF CARE for the child he should be cared for as a parent would care for him its LAW google duty of care in schools

DO NOT write any complaint the whole system is duff...to many brown nopses in that place

GET the poor lad out send him anywhere before something nasty happens

my child was discriminated against because she was white! abd the teachers wasnt ....the said teacher kept a book on what my daughter said the teacher wrote down every word my child said. my daughter stopped speaking I didnt know why until the childs parent whom been subjected to the same carry on told me why!!!!!!!

This was the second child whom had been subjected to this by the teacher in the end she was sent on garden leave and never went back

Kitty your post 14 Jul 2013 20:27

You are sort of correct in you presumption that in the past the reporting procedures were standardised. However with the change in government is the concept of localisation. Now there are general guideline but nothing specific leaving councils free to make there own decisions how they deal with issues.

Not sure just what has/has not been said?

I would get the lad into the other school, then send letters to the PTA and a copy to Ofsted saying why you have a 'grievance' ... (that word needs to be stated as it will trigger an official investigation)

Hopefully, once they move in with your son, the Housing Association will offer them more suitable accommodation. Though unless they are thinking of marrying,it does depend on how long the HA need them to be living there together, to qualify for the extra points.

I do hope they manage to get him into a school where they feel he is safe and have a good life together as a family.

Carol

whatever is useful that has been said can be easily seen on the thread, if you read back.

Errol's post were RR'd for 2 reasons ................ one reason being that he disagreed with a certain poster's advice.

All other RRs were for the nonsensical reason that another name was used for a certain poster ...................

but unfortunately, that RR'ing has made nonsense of the thread, and could be enough to discourage any newbie or non-member from going any further with membership in GR or posting on the Boards.

eRRolSheep Report 15 Jul 2013 00:39

If anyone would like a copy of what was RRd please ask - it said nothing wrong, was not rude.
The only reasons I can imagine it was RRd are that either I disagreed with someone or I said NanaSue/CupCakes

Wow, things have been hectic since I left the thread.

First off, I would like to thank everyone who has gone to the trouble of helping our with suggestions and advice. There is a huge amount of interesting and useful comments which I will forward to M's Mummy and I will try and encourage her to follow things up even tho M will be at a new school from September. If she sends the complaints etc in at the end of term it won't affect him at the school but I feel the head needs pulling up short before she causes another child upset and makes them fear going to school.

I had a teacher in my first year who would mock me when I cried, I had spent little time away from my mother and that first year in school was awful, I was so timid (I know, you wouldn't believe it now would you lol?) It made me nervous of school but luckily when I was 6 my teacher was lovely and made me feel better and secure altho I did come up against other teachers over the years who had no idea how to treat shy children who had little confidence.

I am sad that there has been so much unpleasantness here as well, and hope gr can sort it out fairly.

I will keep you posted on M's progress and any progress we make with a complaint.

Thanks especially to Uzzi, I will make that call later today.

It would be good if M's mummy would complain ............... if only tp protect another little one from the same treatment.
