Just watched bit of it on TV - heartbreaking - rarely do I weep at anything on TV - last time was Diana's funeral, - could have sobbed my socks off watching this, so how the family are coping I have no idea

strange ? surely I'm not the only one to feel like this

Didn't see any of the funeral but did have to turn off Breakfast TV when they were showing the papers and there was a report of his little boy asking if he could phone his dad. Heartbreaking

I'm quite sure that you are not the only one to feel as you do Ann. I just think that so many people are so disgusted and horrified at the nature of that young mans death that there are no words.

Sometimes events are so harrowing, that what we feel in our hearts is not easily put into words.

The funeral service yesterday for Fusilier Lee Rigby was a very moving and solemn event befitting a soldier who served his country.

His death was horrific and it was made even more tragic because he served in Helmand Province in Afghanistan and survived the Taliban bullets and roadside bombs - only to be brutally murdered on a street in London in broad daylight.

May he rest in Peace and my condolences and prayers go to his family and friends.

I did see the news on Lee's funeral however I had to leave the room when they were interviewing his parents. All for the grace of god go I. <3

Very hard to watch and all the more horrific because it happened on his home soil. Bless his little lad, he looked a bit bewildered by all the people.

Ann I agree with what others have said re lack of replies, I did listen to some of it, but there really aren't any adequate words. His little boy's t shirt with 'My daddy my hero' written on it said enough.

for me it just opened the floodgates - all the things that have happened lately and those that happened years ago

I didn't watch much of it on tv, but did take flowers to the local war memorial for the 11am silence. Only a handful of us there, but the young man in uniform who saluted at the end of the silence and looked close to tears nearly started me off.

A very sad day, and still a long road ahead for Lee's family and friends trying to come to terms with their loss. May they be given strength, courage, comfort and hope at this difficult time. <3

I may be considered a bit odd, but I felt that watching it would be intruding on the grief of his family and friends.

I watched the state funerals of Princess Diana and the Queen Mother, but other televised funerals or snippets of funerals make me feel uncomfortable.

I feel exactly the same way, Kitty, but I don't usually watch state funerals either.

I watched it on the news, Ann and shed tears for Lee, his family and friends. My heart goes out to them all.

I watched the tv with tears rolling down my cheeks.

Such a young man, cut down, so futile, so sad.

Ann...l did'nt watch it, Vic said it was on and chose not to, probably a good thing if his little boy was saying that .
Such a horrific death and having survived his duties in Helmand and the Taliban to die in this way in his own country doing what he thought was right for the Hero's of this terrible war.....makes it even worse and more sad.

RIP Lee.
