Before cooking with the stalks off it is a good half a carrier bag full.

I googled........ "how big is a bunch of spinach"..... got some results!

Basically........ a bunch of spinach, including leaves & stalks weighs between 250 & 500 grams.... approximately half of that is the stems. So a bunch of "useable" spinach is approximately 125 - 250 grams.

That doesn't really help :-(

This reminds me of my Mother's hand-written cookbook.........

example: bring to a boil, turn the gas down to a wee peep.... and cook until done.

:-D

A good handful or raw spinach will cook down to about 2 tsp...............I have just tried it :-D

I cook a carrier bag full minus the stalks at least once a week and get about 2 mug fulls.............enough for about 4 generous portions.

We have an allotment heaving with veg at the moment, so I am a bit of an expert ;-)

It's a tidy few leaves usually.

According to Tesco, a Portion is a goodly handful.......dunno if that helps.......

No matter what size goes in the pan about a tablespoonful comes out.

I had a recipe recently that called for frozen spinach which you have to pay for so I used nettles which you don't!

Recipe books can be SO annoying!!

If OH picks a bunch it will be a lot bigger than one I'd pick lol

:-D :-P

Same as..... juice of 1 lemon...... how big is the lemon? Why can't they give weights & measurements?

a bunch of spinach?

:-D

I have no idea!

Recipes call for "a bunch".... but if you grow your own, how do you know how much to use?
