I would also like to see Janey back - if she couldn't find it, it wasn't there to be found! I really missed her when she left/was pushed?

Well all i can say is, JC taught me how to research from when i joined and nowadays for the most manage by myself. She found people i couldnt and solved a huge family mystery for me that only she could solve. So personally i do miss her as I still have some brick walls!

I miss her banter too and that's what kept the boards alive.

Sue

I remember one brick wall that refused to come down for a member seeking help on here.

They were a German family and appeared to 'vanish' of the face of the earth. After a few hours of research, I found them all but one, they had changed their name, due to 'happenings' in WW11

There was still one missing and JC came up with him on 192.com.....it was a 'bingo' moment :-D

Loved working with JC, we had a similar style of thinking in terms of research

Gins

I Loved JC's comments :-) at least you knew where you stood with her none of this self indulgent comments some use to get a bite.

Gins you are correct she would put a few people in there place where they belong :-D.

Love to see you back Janey <3 :-D

Suex :-D

Loved her stories. In complete sympathy with her politics. We are of an age to have a lot in common.

Keep the Faith, JC.

Being brilliant at something shouldn't mean you belittle people, or forget your manners.

I crossed swords with her a few times but she did help me once when I was knee deep in some research and didnt have a clue where I was up too. Syliva in Canada reminds me loads of Janey, both very private people, on one thread we could be in a very heated debate and I would tell her I felt she was talking down to me, 10 mins later another thread would go up and she would mention something about when lived in the UK and I would ask question like what she remembered about it and she would answer me very civil, like Sylvia at times she seems to have loads of patience with me.

I do miss her tales about 1 and 2 :-D :-D :-D

I'll pass on JC or Patsy Spud which I think was her alter ego.

Too much aggro for me :-P

She tore into me once, scared the life out of me.............but she is a brilliant researcher, so I am pleased she is busy elsewhere ;-) :-D

Wendy - I suffered the same - for no reason at all.

Suzanne - I agree.

Well the old witch sure taught ME to think sideways and up and down when searching as my very first post on here as newby was answered by herself..

I still remember her reply on part of it ....

Click click...I reply and still wait..

And yes I am still in contact with her but no longer tremble .....much..

Like Mau said - no thanks! She made *mincemeat* of me once when I was a newby and made me feel a nervous wreck for several days. Wouldn't happen now though. :-|

I just remember the 2 lovely members (who have posted on this thread tonight) who supported me at the time. Thanks to you both - I haven't forgotten <3
