It's probably an age thing, but I much prefer the solo artists to the modern bands/singers with loud backing groups.

At least you could hear all the words.

Just thought of these two.. Tiny Tim, tip toe through the tulips, and PJ proby, him of split- trousers- on- purpose fame.

Honest I didn't like them, just thought of them :-D

Sharron Report 21 Jul 2013 22:42

Not recently but I used to hide when Paul Robeson came on the radio because I was afraid of his voice.

Songs that nearly drove me insane :-D due to hearing them over, and over, and over.

Volare 1958,

She wore an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini 1960.

Shared a cabin on a ship with a lad who only had those two records :-(

Among my old vinyls..........

Rainy Night In Georgia - Brook Benton,
When A Man Loves A Woman - Percy Sledge,
Under The Boardwalk - The Drifters,
Save The Last Dance For Me - The Drifters,
Wild Thing - Troggs,
Only You - The Platters,
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes - The Platters,
Twist And Shout - Brian Poole,
The Crying Game - Dave Berry.
If You Gotta Make A Fool Of Somebody - Freddie And The Dreamers,

Loads more, but does anybody remember "Turkish Coffee?"

Tec :-) Thanks for this thread Lynda

Apart from not knowing ' Turkish Coffee'

I have not almost forgotten, not even the teeniest weeniest bit forgotten your list of Vinyls Tec... We have a dresser (not a Welsh one) that has two cupboards of Vinyl records. It took us ages to get a decent turntable for them.

Tapes have been rendered more or less useless and been updated with CDs, but Vinyl will stay.

Vinyls are coming back into fashion. It's something to do with the sound quality and some of them are quite valuable, so long as they are in perfect condition.

Our local Oxfam shop has a "Wanted" list in its window.

You're very welcome Tec, glad it's brought back good memories :-D

I don't think Bob Marley been mentioned. love a lot of his stuff, and it's still popular now.

Andysmum, I reckon those who have hung to there Vinyls, could have a nice little nest egg, if the have the right tracks.
