now, with the "new" shape oxo cube namely an X profile, the cube is the same size,
but what about the empty space where previously it was a solid block/cube....... surely there is some oxo missing?.

I remember a few years ago when you booked a hotel room you had to pay a single person supplement if you were on your own, it was then realised you were paying for two people but it was just you.
So the price stayed the same but the wording was "sleeps two"

I had forgotten one of the market research jobs I did.

I had to ask people if I could measure their toilet roll holder with a special guage with which I had been thoughtfully provided.

You had heard that I would do anything for money hadn't you?

Those great big rolls they have in pubs & shopping centres!

Usually two rolls in the thing.........

Ever get to the end of the roll?

Sticking your fingers in the stupid thing, trying to find the end of the new roll?

:-(

I always carry tissues :-D

There's a thought Huia ~

I must check the price of loo paper next time I'm at the supermarket

How much per sheet?

Or how much per linear metre?

Or how much per square centimetre?

Or how much per............ :-0

Dare I give everybody a good laugh here? Some years back I felt that a piece of toilet paper wasn't the same size that it used to be. A week later I happened to find an old roll (or part thereof) in our caravan. I compared the size with the new roll and there was definitely a difference. Perhaps they were hoping to encourage us all to lose weight, so the smaller size would be ok. All very well for those who have no problem losing weight. :-(

I noticed a while back that the sausages I usually buy from Tesco, Sainsbury or Morrisons no longer had the same weight, altho the price stayed the same, the weights were less. Same with baked beans I found one tin didn't seem to go as far, had a look and they were down by several grams. It's really annoying, I think I would prefer the weight to stay the same and the price go up a bit, at least I would know what I was doing lol

Saw this written earlier: The era of cheap food in Britain is over, the boss of Tesco has said.

Chief executive Philip Clarke said the growing pressure on global food supplies meant prices would have to go up.

Well there's a surprise, incomes are worth less and food goes up. I suppose that's one way to sort out the obesity problem!

In Oz, everything is marked (on the shelf, not the product) for the price per kilogram, per litre, for one or for ten.

Everything! food, dishwashing liquid, soap, you name it.

If your groceries add up to between $19.96 & 19.99 you pay $20 if you pay with cash, if you put it on a card (debit or credit) your statement shows the exact amount. Our smallest denomination coin is 5 cents.

By 1971, Bob, prices were pretty stable. You knew that a newspaper was 3d, a packet of crisps was 4d, a Mars Bar was 6d. All of a sudden we were confused about prices. And I think the real inflation came when the half new penny was removed from circulation. Everything that had been 2 and a half new pence (6 old pence) suddenly became 3 new pence.

And it was like being abroad. Hand shopkeeper a pound note or five pound note and hope you got some change. None of us had any idea whether we were being ripped off or not. Usually we were.

And a lot of these special deals, BOGOFs, buy 3 and pay for 2 etc are confusing us just as much. And now this playing around with product sizes is adding to our problems. :-( :-(
