GinN Report 23 Aug 2013 17:35

:-D :-D How to really depress a person!

Better get myself into the kitchen to see what I can concoct with the various items left in the fridge...........courgettes, bacon, peppers, tomatoes, cheese..............it will have to be a pasta thingy! :-D :-D ;-)

I was wondering on my "other" thread whether the expert IT technicians at GR will get a Christmas bonus this year.

GinN

GinN Report 23 Aug 2013 17:39

I am sure it will come out of our subscriptions, Errol! ;-)

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 23 Aug 2013 17:48

There won't BE any subscriptions at the rate they are going.

And I shall be asking for some form of recompense.
I am paying for a service that I am not receiving and not only that, it is costing me money because I am on a data allowance.

As I have said elsewhere, the fact that they have taken five days so far is absolutely ludicrous.
On top of that, they finally announced yesterday that they would be rolling the changes back to try and narrow it down (after I had already suggested that this would be the correct thing to do in this instance - maybe I should be asking for the bonus!). That should have been done as soon as they became aware of a problem.

Come on, it's hardly difficult to work out. Changes are made. The site goes belly up. hmmm now I wonder what on earth could have caused it to do that.

Totally amateurish!

'Eyebrows were not designed to go on rising till they crest the cranial summit'. (David Aaronovitch).

What on earth does he mean?

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 23 Aug 2013 18:30

I now have my frolicsome head on.

The one with the eyebrow festooned cranial summit.

Dermot I have no idea either.

Errol - I worry about the calibre of these highly paid technicians. I and many other members are just not satisfied with this lot and something has to be done quickly.
When I was working at the main shipyard on the Tyne the computer staff were absolutely brilliant. When problems arose they were sorted immediately otherwise staff in other departments would be sitting around doing nothing costing the company money.

Dr GP it is ridiculous. I have worked on a great many websites over the years and I have never encountered anything like this.
To decide after four days to roll things back is, at best, ludicrous.
I wonder what they were doing before they made that decision!

ok ok I will try to stop being stroppy

GinN

GinN Report 23 Aug 2013 19:03

I thought I heard a distant murmuring..............Oh, it's my GR pals! :-D :-D ;-)

Frolicking, now that takes me back! ;-)

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 23 Aug 2013 19:13

I have just tried to see how many crisps I can put in my mouth at once.

GinN

GinN Report 23 Aug 2013 19:22

About 5 packets!, but depends on the flavour, I suppose! :-D ;-)

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 23 Aug 2013 19:26

Does the flavour make a difference?

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 23 Aug 2013 19:29

GinN

GinN Report 23 Aug 2013 19:29

If you like the flavour, you'll eat more .......................Oh, forget about ruddy crisps!
Let's just have a laugh! :-D :-D ;-)
