That is great news about Jeannie and her son Skyping so she can see and talk to her daughters in England. It will surely make he feel better and be so lovely for the family to all be together this way, even for a short while.

I hope Jeannie will continue to improve and feel more comfortable and stronger in herself every day. Ongoing positive thoughts and prayers to her and everyone.

Thanks for the update Liz, take care. xx

One of Jeannie's sons is organising skype when he goes to visit so her daughter here and others have been able to speak with Jeannie, she has responded fairly well and there are some lovely pics of her on fb with the flowers her daughter sent. He is arranging another skype get together on Tuesday so she will be able to interact with the family again and friends too which will help cheer her up. She gets tired easily tho so not as clear towards the end of the chats but it must do her and them good to be 'face to face'

Onwards and upwards, I hope.

Jeannie is now in a nursing home - am waiting to hear more from her daughter on how she is doing.

Hope they are kind and caring and give her the support she needs at this time.

Positive thinking works!

What with Dutch improving and now the news that my friend is a little better and may be moved to a nursing home soon (not the one that neglected her last time) it seems our positive thoughts do help when sent in force.

We have seen this before with others so keep up the good work my friends and between us we can do wonders!

Thanks to you all for the support

Thank you all, it's so sad to think of her miles from her home city and family.
It was 5 years ago in August that I lost another good friend to cancer, she was younger than me by a year or so.

when you send them to Dutch, for an old friend of mine, Jeannie, who is very poorly in hospital in Georgia, U.S.A. She has family in Norwich, two daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and I don't think any of them can get out to see her due to finances. Her two sons are with her in U.S.A. She had a difficult life and then one daughter was badly injured in a car accident and ended up handicapped mentally and physically in a home, she died a few years ago now.

My friend met an American Airforce chap here and joined him in the States where they married and she had a second son, her daughters stayed here with her parents and her sister as they didn't want to go away, they were mid teens.

Jeannie is only a year older than I am and has deteriorated a lot in the last year, so that dementia seems to have taken hold and other health problems too. It all looks very bleak for her.

Her daughter that I am closest to is a wonderful young woman who had her own problems in her marriage and had to leave with three children. She has done an amazing job bringing them up and they are all very close, and she is marvellous with her grandchildren. She works for a school for young people with learning disabilities and takes them on outings and all sorts of activities above and beyond the call of duty.

Any spare positive thoughts for Jeannie to get stronger so she can get out of hospital and maybe come home to Norfolk or have time for family to visit would be appreciated.
