She's so incredibly thin! But I suppose it was fashionable in those days!

There are rumours of a Governess for Tom!

What a dishy and nice new Love-Interest for Mary in Lord Gillingham (Tom Cullen) :-)

The best thing about Downton is Maggie Smith- SHE CAN'T GO! :-0

ChrisofWessex

ChrisofWessex Report 7 Oct 2013 14:11

If Maggie goes, Downton will collapse - wonderful one liners.

Last night 'I have never been troubled by guilt' (or words to that effect.

She is so majestic.

That new maid is bad news, especially for nice Tom Branson.....there's trouble ahead I reckon.
As for Lady Mary's boring monotonous voice, ugh, just drone drone drone, yawn Zzzzzzz Lord Gilllingham better watch out if he's interested in her, he may fall asleep in his soup next time they chat at the dinner table, .

Got an orrible feeling Anna is going to be pregnant and it's going to cause
Big problems cos she isn't sure if its Bates ,s baby or not .

Hope she doesn't go down the illegal path for the time and all the problems it may cause

JemimaFawr Report 21 Oct 2013 12:04

Hello Everyone :-D

Excellent episode last night I thought! :-)

Maggie Smith in fine form as the Dowager Lady Grantham. She had some wonderful lines-
To Isabel Crawley on her plea to give the Gardener Boy a job-
"Do You Know, I wonder your halo doesn't grow heavy- It must be like wearing a tiara around the clock!" Priceless! :-D

In reply to Isabel Crawley's gratitude-
"Your gratitude never seems to last- no sooner than I've said yes- then you come back with another request!" :-D

May she grace Downton Abbey with her wit forever- They'd better not kill her off :-|

DazedConfused Report 21 Oct 2013 12:15

This run could be the last as it takes us up to WW2, and Julian Fellowes has said that it could become problematical to take/bring it on during and after WW2.

So we will have to wait and see.

Lady Mary, is just so rigid. Looks like Edith is preggers!!! And her man is is trouble in Germany!!
