Thanks you lovely peeps, and Uzzi too lol

The job my lad went for yesterday was at our local Science park, a good bus ride away but the stop is near his home and the bus goes every 15 mins cos it goes on to our local hospital. It's for dna testing, apparently they get a lot of calls from Jeremy Kyle type people lol

I am sure it would be interesting so am keeping my fingers crossed but the money would be better at the factory I think, altho it would mean shift work.

Fate will decide how things go bit it seems to be all happening at once now. He even has the possibility of a plae at an old workplace, selling wine over the phone, he did well there last time but left to go back to college for a year.

Liz, I do hope that your son interviewed well today and will do good for the second interview tomorrow. Fingers crossed that he will be offered full time employment from one or the other. It really would be the icing on the cake!

I called in to see them all on Tuesday afternoon, the rooms look nice that they have decorated, son has done a good job and they just have to sort out all the left over furniture and things in their bedroom which luckily is a large one.

Speaking to my lad on Wednesday pm he told me he has two job interviews this week, one today and one tomorrow. The one tomorrow is at the same factory my o.h. works at, he is an electrical technician but son applied for anything that was going on the factory floor as he has no practical qualifications. He sent the letter and cv in some weeks back so it's good that they are interviewing him, and even tho he would have to work shifts, it would be good money to help them get sorted. I am not sure how he will like factory work (corrugated cardboard makers)but he gets on with people and works hard so I am sure he would cope. A friend of his already works there so he knows what to expect.
I don't know what the other job is, probably office work of some kind as that's what he is better equipped for but whatever is meant to be will be. It would be good for him to get back into work as he's been off for over 2 yrs now and it's been getting him down.

Fingers crossed please, folks, will let you know how he gets on

Looking good for your son, Liz and you have gained a friend in N and her little boy sounds pleased with his new bedroom. All very positive after a stressful Summer.

Thanks, son sent me pics of the little lad in his new bedroom, with a big grin on his face. He has his curtains and bed from his old home and all his toys as well of course, so I am sure he will soon settle in.

Son went off last evening to play football as usual so they had a break from each other for a couple of hours or so. My lad has a great network of friends who all get on with N. and her friends like my son, so I am sure things will balance out and they will be happy.

Their cards should arrive today, if the post comes before M. goes to school he can open the envelope as I put his name on there first.

Hi Liz.
I am sure little one will settle soon. It will be strange but exciting for him with all the changes. Your son is good washing down the front door. Wish mine would do that. Not good about having to put extra petrol in the van.
But hopefully your son will soon find some work and they will be very happy together. Bless them.x

Thanks Sylvia.

I spoke to the two of them a little while ago and they said the little lad likes being at the flat and loves his new room but didn't sleep very well last night. It's all strange to him but I am sure he will sleep better soon and feel settled. He seems to be enjoying his new school.

Son has had to pack a lot into the small rooms so everywhere but M's room is a mess but he will gradually get straight and they will get into a good routine. He says his main focus now is getting work and then things will come together. His friends were apparently incredibly supportive with moving the things from N's flat, altho my lad thought she had boxed lots up and she hadn't so it took longer than expected. On taking the van back to hire company they filled petrol tank to same mark as when they borrowed it but the chap said it had to be full!!!!! so they had to go back and get another £7 worth of petrol, it cost a lot and had I known I could have recommended a driver and van which would have worked out cheaper. He was washing down the front door when I called so it making an effort to get the place looking good again after all the chaos.

Thanks for your support, I do worry about him naturally but I am sure things will work out ok and the three of them (for now lol) will be happy.

Liz it is so hard for them, and as you say not much in the way of jobs.our lot have done quite well really. One has had a couple of 6 month spells with no work a few years ago, but all good at the moment. I have always been a person who worries about things and no matter how old they are, they are still our children.
I hope your son finds work soon.

Thanks all, I spoke with my lad last evening and he was very stressed, I think he is still a bit worried about sharing his space with someone after living alone for a while, but they do seem happy together and N. is a nice girl who adores my lad.

I found a card to send them which says 'May the roof above you never fall in and may those living beneath it never fall out' Apparently it's an old Irish blessing.

Hope it proves right!
