	Just to add to the argument- in my neck of the woods when I was a child it was called either KNICK KNOCK NANNY or RAT-A-TAT GINGER! I used to love listening to my aunts talking about doing this as children as you had to make your own fun then (1940ish) So I thought- Great Idea- I'LL MAKE MY OWN FUN TOO!:-D :-D I tied the cotton to a house nearby, and as I was walking away, the son of the lady of the house came out and gave me a terrible telling-off (quite rightly) as she was elderly and ill! I had not thought of that and was soooooooooooo embarrassed! :-(
