For those interested the Godfrey Maps are reprints of old
Ordanance Survey Maps starting about 1867 up until 1914 or so.

Hello Elizabeth, I think next time I'm down at my mums I'll go and have a look around the church its right next door to where she lives.

No I have not tried the Godfrey Maps.

Thats lovely you were able to link the ancestors baptism to the picture of the church. <3

This makes research so interesting.

Have you tried the Godfrey Maps?

They are available for different years and cover most areas of England and Wales.

It is really fascinating to locate where ancestors lived and worked and how an area developed and changed over the years.

I have found them invaluable.

Reading my issue of WDUTUA I came across a old picture St Margarets Church in Uxbridge my mum live very close to this little church which is still in use but the area around it is very different from the picture. Then when I was going through my tree I found that one of my ancestors baptism was held there.
