It is a dreadful complaint with no cure, yet it is surprising just how many people suffer with it. |

My daughter has suffered from it for years. She has tried every pill and potion thrown at her by her GP and many more besides. The only thing that seems to help her is a few minutes a week under the sunbed. GP suggested she tried it and for now it seems to help. Unfortunately there is no cure and she is liable to get Arthritis as it runs in our family. |

Gins I have it but not badly. Mine is brought on by stress but also it is hereditary so I was told. My father had it. Mine isn´t so bad just elbows and head but yes I itch and scratch until I bleed at times. |

It might seem like stating the obvious but as I have chronic atopic dermatitis and allergic to the environment i find the antihistamines help a bit with stopping the itching. |

I suffered a spell of psoriasis on my scalp and back of my neck following a major operation I had a year ago (to-day actually!) - my GP told me it was probably caused by stress. She prescribed Betamethasone lotion (and a coal-tar shampoo) and it eventually cleared up. It has since started to recur a couple of times, so I've applied the medication again to keep it at bay. I also lost quite a lot of hair, but that has grown back now, but the new hair is curly (I've always had straight hair), which is so annoying! Better than going bald though I suppose :-D |

She finds it does Wend. She had a good deal of relief when she went abroad last year. |

I always find that mine is much improved in the summer months and particularly if I am able to have a holiday abroad (which isn't very often, unfortunately!) |

I have a good friend who gets it very bad. Luckily he can afford to travel to sunnier climes a few times a year, and the sunshine definitely clears it up for a while, so a sumbed session most likely will do the same thing. A very distressing condition. |
