I heard this morning that Bob Geldof was in America when he heard the news that his beloved daughter had died, what a flight home that must have been, my heart goes out to him and the rest of the family <3 <3

I know I may be a little bit behind with the news but I have just read the statement form Bob Geldof for his beloved daughter Peaches.

In a family statement issued on Monday night, Bob Geldof said:

"She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.

"Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable?

"We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken."

The statement was signed Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.

Heartbreaking.. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Sorry I seem to have ruffled a few feathers, as I said it's very sad but I still stand by what I said, so if I've upset anyone then I apologise, if that's not good enough then I'm off.

I 100% agree with you Sharron on both counts, I was watching the news last night and their were various photos of her through her life and I noticed one of her when she was about 15 and seem to be bigger than she is now adays and I thought I wonder if she did theose bloody slimming pills? Of course this is just me she could be slim from running around after 2 babies.

As for Sir Bob he got my total respect after the dealth of Paula Yates he took on her baby and a few years later when interviewed and it was mentioned he was outraged and said that he thought of Tiger Lily as his own and she belonged with her sisters.

I don't think they are/were dysfunctional, it must be hard being in the public eye all the time and some cope better than others, specially if you are judged because a parent is famous and you don't want to be.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 8 Apr 2014 13:29

suppose I meant it was Paula who was somewhat dysfunctional - sorry if I offended anyone with that remark

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 8 Apr 2014 11:56

I too would question that they are/were dysfunctional. different maybe and a bit colourful but Bob G always seems to be a really good responsible father and Peaches seemed to have settled down a bit since becoming a mother.

It looks like it might have been her strange dieting habits that killed her.

She would live on vegetable juice for a month at a time and this may have damaged her heart.

I also agree with you Sharron, so sad for her boys and the rest of the family

I agree too, Sharron.

The loss of a young life is always tragic - all the more so when little ones are left behind.

Kent Police said the death was being treated as "non-suspicious but unexplained and sudden".

A post-mortem is expected to take place in the next few days.

Regardless of the how and why, she leaves a young family without a mother. :-(

I agree with you Sharron.

Sharron Report 8 Apr 2014 09:15

I do question if they were a dysfunctional family.

Bob Geldof has done all he can to provide a stable home for his daughters and their half sister who is not even related to him.

They have done wild in their youth but is that not how it should be?

Even if she did not die of natural causes it is still a sad loss of such a young life R I P . Peaches

PollyinBrum

PollyinBrum Report 8 Apr 2014 09:04

So very sad. Let us remember Peaches was a much loved daughter, wife mother, and sister. Her family are clearly devastated. Perhaps she died from natural causes.

I feel their pain.

God Bless you Peaches RIP

Uninformed speculation about the sudden death of a young mother is inappropriate and insensitive.

Thoughts are with Sir Bob, Thomas, Astala, Phaedra, Fifi and Tiger Lily.

I keep thinking about her family and how bewildered and sad they must be, one minute all ticking along well one assumes, and then this terrible blow. For all their fame and fortune and misfortune in the past, they are flesh and blood and their hearts break as easily as the next man.

Poor family, those little boys will barely remember her but their father has said he will tell them about her every day, so she won't be forgotten. He could take some tips from Jade Goody's ex Jeff, who seems to have done a wonderful job with his two lads who were a bit older when Jade died.

maybe so, but hardly the time and place to air such thoughts when the girl is barely cold
