Thank you all for your good wishes - son makes a point of each time he eats OH's pastry by saying 'Thought you were good Mum but this is better". Talk about a wooden spoon!

So glad your day was good and you had visitors and love and laughter round you.

My Mum was the best at pastry and cakes, I just hate making pastry altho did it with her when I was small. I don't like the feel of it going down my nails but you can't really make it with rubber gloves on, can you lol?

Hope your o.h. can continue to make you nice pies and such,

There was a lot of laughter this mid morning with visitors and phone calls etc.

OH decided to bake a steak and kidney pie followed by an apple pie. I wish I knew why he can turn out beautiful pastry each and every time.

I am feeling better today, son stayed on so OH went off to a Parish Council meeting this evening but by and large it was a very pleasant day.

OH liked the funny card son selected for me to give.

I received my normal card but it was accompanied by 12 red roses - they were a surprise!
