Remember away that's what it's for
I remember going to the parade with dad when I was little and the oldies were the boer war vets
Then it was Gallipoli and the 1st world war
Now it's the second
It won't be long before they are all gone
A good thing I guess if it means no more wars but a little sad all the same

I am so proud of my son who was part of the peacekeeping units in East Timor.

I lost count of the number of young men in my family tree who died in WW1. Many died in WW2; cousins of mine died in Vietnam.

I won't forget the sacrifice they made.

Malcolm is the only one that I know of who was at Gallipoli.

I usually play "The Band Played Waltzing Matilda" at some point on Anzac Day.

My nephew did the dawn parade thank goodness
Sad seeing them get less in numbers every year
