I am trying to find an ancestor of mine named "John Coppin" who was born around 1832. I know that he had a wife called Louisa and children called Harry (born around 1864), Frederick (born around 1866), Louisa (born around 1868), and Charles (born 1870)

We are struggling to find John as a child, to find out his parents and siblings names.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.

Never the less - what is the geographical location please? If you know the name of his wife, have you found a marriage reference? The certificate could give the name of his father, if known, and his occupation.

Sorry a little new to this, it would have been around Lewisham/Bromley, yes.

His wife was definitely Louisa Coppin (nee Simmons). We have found a census in 1841 of a young John Coppin born in Bromley, and the dates add up. Which makes us think that seen as he was married in Bromley, it's likely he was born there too.

I keep coming back to this, father's name is wrong but Sarah and Charlotte, James and William match...I wonder if John was Thomas John or vice versa?
