of butterflies were fluttering around here today :-D

Mainly Red Admirals - but a few others too.

When I came home, I couldn't open the gate properly - the cats came to say 'hello' - and were in the way.
Just as well. I looked down - and there was a huge slow worm where my foot would have gone :-(
He soon disappeared - was probably suffering from the heat.
It also confirms I have slow worms in both back AND front gardens!!

How lovely, what a nice homecoming, Maggie. Not many butterflies here so far altho lots of flowers in the garden.

It was amazing. Not just at home - I walk through a sports venue to and from work - there were loads there.
Every lunchtime, I walk along a tree lined path by the park & ride - and was having to avoid butterflies :-D

You must have ours. Now you've mentioned it, they are in short supply round here. Not even a Cabbage White!

Our Buddleia has had one small Tortoiseshell and a couple of whites of some sort and that is all. Went to Hidcote NT garden today. loads of flowers, saw one butterfly and it was too quick to see what it was.

Gosh, I wonder what it is then?
Loads more butterflies today - a few Meadow browns, large and small whites - even a small blue, and a peacock or two - and yet again - loads of Red Admirals :-D
