I had my photos on Picasa. When I needed a new motherboard my SIL backed them up on an external hard drive and kindly (not) did away with picasa.

Is there another site I could load some photos to for free as now I can't crop or mess around with my photos.

Thanks for any info regarding this.

The easiest substitute for Picassa is IrfanView (free).

http://www.irfanview.com/

With the free plugins it is a more powerful program than Picassa but very easy to use. Frequently updated.

It will work fine with cloud storage such as DropBox, GoogleDrive, OneDrive etc

If you want a cloud based photo service then Flikr is the way to go. It can be synchronised with yr phone, camera etc. Free & pro versions. TheVerge is also very good.

Rollo, is it any good for putting text on photos and messing around with photos, substituting heads etc?

I used to use Picasa to make cards for friends and I miss it.

I have transferred my photos from Picasa to google photos, but am not happy with the quality of some of them.
I believe it should have been done by March this year to preserve the quality, but the Picasa site is on my Windows PC and I use my iPad now most of the time and mainly use my PC for syncing and printing etc.and I missed the deadline.
I may try the substitute you suggest Rollo,on my PC and see if they improve.
