Well I am !! Was trying to help another thread re wills and I couldn't resist taking it further .

I had downloaded a copy of a will for 1924 for my FIL father who had deserted his family in the early 1900 , dad had been put in a home aged 4

Had found it and downloaded a copy then tried to see how far the records went so looked for OH will that I did probate for in jan 2016 .

Seeng his name come up was upsetting and knowing his will and grant of probate is there is a jolt and knowing he is just another name is sobering

All part of accepting he has gone :-(

I think that is the official, public bit that everybody has. You had the special, private, real person that was yours alone.
